Assuming that Mr. MacQueen doesn't beat me to the punch on this recommendation... You need to get the Rhino comp series "Street Jams-Electric Funk Vol. 1-4". It's a relatively well thought out collection of both the classics and dogs from the early electro/hip-hop scene. A great introduction to the variety of sounds that people were popping and locking to, mostly during 1982 to 1985. Stand out tracks for me include: Al-Naafiyish (The Soul) - Hashim 122 B.P.M. - Jive Rhythm Trax White Horse - Laid Back Computer Power - Jamie Jupitor Computer Age (Push the Button) - Newcleus Unfortunately the comps do not come with headspin tips & tricks, but they sound just as good as those high school late night radio shows used to... -- There4IM
