i saw it this week. it thought it a was a piece of crap. i saw it described in
flyer as "as a meg ryan movie set at a rave". another way of putting it, aaron
spelling productions present...it was a turgid and conventional plot that
happend to involve a rave.
as a piece of film making it was it plain dull. the plot plodded along, with
large sections of tedium.
but what are you going to do. the fun and excitement of a rave is the personal
experience of dancing your arse off. as it sas at body and soul 'dancing is not
a spectator sport'. it's something which is pretty much innefable in the
language of film.
i think it's telling to compare it to the welsh movie human traffic which was
which was quite enjoyable light entertainment.

i guess it's the 'saturday night fever' of rave. unfortunately it justn't
doesn't come anywhere near 'snf'.
just remember when disco's utter commercialsation resulted in a backlash and the
death to disco movement, the beats just went underground mutating into house.
it's time again to submerge...

btw, i'm no fan of trance and so haven't listened to any of it for quite some
time (since the early days of harthouse/eye q). the music that digweed played,
is that representative of the stuff he plays? is it representative of trance?

Has anyone seen this yet? Any thoughts? The only reports I hear are from
big-media outlets, so when they trumpet it as the first "true" rave movie,
it makes me more than just a bit uncomfortable... Still, it should be
interesting -- and if you *had* to do a trance soundtrack (and I'm sure they
did), you could definitely come up with some cheesier people than the names
that show up here: John Digweed, Hybrid, Hardkiss...

I believe the director Greg Harrison is an MSU graduate, for what it's
worth...
