Same story here.

My mom just turned 50 and over the years I have been playing so many cd's
(my turntables used to be in a seperate room above the garage) in the
morning (to get my engine going) that she became used to it and sometimes
she said: 'I really like this, what is it?'. Thanks to years of
enthousiastically talking about my idols and the parties I went to, my mom
knows a lot of artists by name and she's pretty well-informed (for a mom
that is...). I'm really lucky she let me go to all these parties even if it
was far away or abroad. Now I live together with my girlfriend in the city
of Ghent, but I'm still gratefull she never attempted to supress my musical
ideas. Thanks mom!!

>From my parents just simply being around me they've learned alot about the
music. My dad is in his 50's and completely knows who Kenny Larkin and
Richie Hawtin are. My mom likes Theorem (dales's) stuff too. I had Terrence
Parker's 'Ten',CD one, playing in my car the other day and my dad said 'can
we listen to that on our next road trip?!' They like the housier stuff
better, and like some of the minimal and downtempo stuff as well.

Though I must say, however, my mom has a small heart attack every time I
come home with a big brown bag or records-but she thinks of it as just the
thing "i collect" :)

i love my parents:)
