I know a good many people swear by lighter fluid, dissolves fingerprints and evaporates quickly off your records.

just bear in mind that records are PVC (poly VINYL chloride) most things will do little damage, it's an extremely long, stable alkane polymer and the high electronegativity of the chlorine stops even the few reactions which usually take place on short chain alkanes. Keep bleach (hypochlorite) away from it though, it's chock full of free chlorine ions which will break down the molecules
