To the 313/IDM lists,

This email is an announcement concerning the first Ghostly International event which takes place tonight at the Motor Lounge.

My name is Sam Valenti and I run a group of record labels out of Ann Arbor under the guise of Ghostly International. I know that this advertisement is awkwardly up-front and perhaps contains too much info, but I feel that it is important to introduce ourselves to you, the Detroit Techno and IDM cognoscenti, with as much sincerity as possible.

The desire of the Ghostly International company is to encourage art that that revolves around concept and artistry, not machinery. Our values, therefore, follow the belief that the most interesting element of modern electronic music, barring it's ever-changing and global nature, is the constant struggle to communicate through technology. It is indeed the nuances of humanity that seep through quantization and processing that gives the electronic canon it's true shape: An emotional and intellectual distillation of first-person history that supersedes a constantly evolving sea of equipment.

This party means a handful of things.
       but most importantly...
1. It is our inaugural event because this is our first public display of the Ghostly ideals. 2. It is a release party also because of our two new releases and the launch of the new dancefloor label, Spectral Sound.

New Releases (avaliable soon):

-Tadd Mullinix's "Winking Makes a Face" cd on Ghostly International.
The debut album featuring a stirring blend of humanistic abstract electronics.
                    and
-Matthew Dear's "Irreparably Dented" 12" on Spectral Sound. A brooding dancefloor experience with a reconstruction by David Alvarado.

Anyhow, enough chatter, here are the facts:
