David is right. You have a decision though: A remix is work for hire, meaning you get paid once. Adding melody and lyrics makes it a song, which is eligible for copyright.
By adding vocals & lyrics to a remix -- for which you will receive no writing credit or royalties -- is giving away that creative work. If you have an idea for a song, you're better off -- with respect to ownership of your work -- to attach the vocals and lyrics to an original composition of your own. Of course, do what feels right. If you do this, and your remix blows up because of your awesome ideas, that means your future work will receive more attention than it would without the remix. And of course, if you're down here in the muck with the rest of us with day jobs and no financial reward for your musical efforts, it doesn't matter. Just do good work.
