good luck - $79 one way is very reasonable. I'm assuming that's on northwest? Since MSP and DTW are both northwest hub cities, they pretty much have a hold on the low-priced flights between the two. You're not gonna get any cheaper unless you drive... and i find that the 90 minutes in a plane is much more comfortable than 12-13 hours in a car, no matter how pimp your ride might be. chris
