I used to work for the Gap (same company) and they did have a compilation
each month that was sent out to the stores that we had to play. I never
heard anything Detroit related though, although there was a Basement Jaxx
track on EVERY month's CD.
Another clothing company I worked for (Le Chateau - Canadian) had a similar
system. There were a LOT of tracks from Distance Recordings,
a couple old Swayzak tracks, and, believe it or not - Sandwiches (two
different mixes, too).

Not totally off topic... but I was in old navy today picking up some pocket
tees... and I heard none other than Saunderson's "Big Fun". Totally weird.
Actually, weird as it sounds, I kind of like the music they have in
thatstore. Also heard "When Doves Cry" by Prince and a few other >pretty
cooltracks. I think they actually make Old Navy compilations >of some sort
--there must be some clever individual behind all that.
