Someone else brought this up to me offlist... "Big Fun" was a major club
hit, did very well on the club charts and also charted on the Billboard Hot
100, although I can't recall where it peaked at... I don't remember if it
broke into the Top 40 or not.  Big Fun received anywhere from moderate to
heavy airplay in the major (Top 20) radio markets... outside of that, I
believe it received little to no airplay at all in what would be considered
the small & mid-sized radio markets.  The thought makes me shudder, because
I happened to hear it on a trip into Chicago once in '88 (both major Top 40
stations had it in heavy rotation at the time), and that's the song I give
credit for hooking me into house and techno.  Like a couple of others, I've
noticed! LOL
