This post will probably cause a bit of controversy but here it is anyway.
I must first let you know that i will remain anonymous. I am a true, native
Detroiter(born and raised) and have been into Detroit Techno and the scenes
soap operas since the Music Institute.
I have VERY RELIABLE sources that have informed me of who is and isn't
playing this years D?EMF(as in Detroit??? Electronic Music Festival).
According to my sources there were originally NO Detroit DJs scheduled to
play the main stage at all this year!
The drama is very deep so i won't get into that but..... wasn't this
festival supposed to be displaying to the world what Detroit is all about
and what we have to offer?
Here is what "we" have to offer:
Fatboy Slim
Moby
Carl Cox
Laurent Garnier
and i'm also told several Planet E acts!
Now whether i like or dislike any of the above doesn't matter.
What does matter is that the organizers need to let our best dj's and
producers(Old and New) represent the amazing legacy that is Detroit Techno.
Are we still going to support the festival if it veers wrongly off course?
As 313ers i challenge you to make your voice heard.
I will be attending the Press Conference this Thursday to see how true this
info is. I've heard that they are scrambling at the last minute to add some
Detroit "names".
