It`s not the first time Derrick said things like that, he even said that a
lot of the artist from Detroit that came after him and Kev and Juan were
just doing it for the money. Although that might be true in some cases it`s
a really bad attitude.

Couldn't agree more!
Some people think it all magically started in Detroit and everything after
that is a copy-style. Early techno itself is a copy-style of a number of
things and I've never heard Kraftwerk claim to be the be-all-end-all of
techno.
