Amen. I've been wondering whether to say this or not, but sometimes I get
the feeling that there are a few out there who would like to see the
festival fail at Carol Marvin's expense... or see Carol Marvin fail at the
festival's expense. I'm not one to play politics. I plan to attend
regardless of who's calling the shots, I'd think most people would want to
do the same if they want this thing to survive. I know there's a lot of
lingering resent regarding Carl Craig's sudden dismissal last year, but
regardless of who's running the show, I'd like the see the DEMF continue to
grow and see it return in years to come. I realize that there is a right
way and a wrong way to accomplish this. I'm not as familiar with as many of
the performers as some of you hardcore 313'ers are, but that's not to say I
won't enjoy getting introduced to their sounds for the first time as I did
last year (and for a couple of artists, the second time). :)

That being said, I am disappointed, like many of you, that certain
performers have turned down invitation to play this year for whatever
reasons... I'm hoping the afterparties will make up for that.
