I remember this discussion appeared on the 313 list about 2 or 3 years ago.
(semi-oldtimer here) :)  From what I can recall (wish I knew how to access
the 313 archives), I think it was Terrence Parker that cleared the air and
said that the acapella originally appeared on a track by a group called
Italo Ecstasy and the name of the track was called "My House"... originally
released on XYZ records about 1986.  Of course, it was sampled into the Mr.
Fingers track and is much more well known being associated with "Can U Feel
It", but that's the history behind it, from my understanding.

Is TP still on the list?  Do I have this correct? LOL
