"The Detroit Free Press, another festival sponsor, worked hard, she says, to
gain a stage sponsorship."

the artists and labels in detroit work hard and essentially *are* detroit
electronic music, past and present. so why can't they afford to have a
tent?

"I believe in bringing people together," she says. "It’s my life’s work."
  a couple of sentences later:
"I think she really understands what marketers want..."
"She’s always been into marketing and image."

so basically it's her life's work to bring a million people (and their
money) together in the name of god (also power and coattail riding), and
have sponsors pay her. that is not what *music* is about. i understand
that sponsorship is important, but it's a real shame that local artists and
businesses cannot afford to participate in a festival that is supposedly
about them.
