Those are the same new-Numark crap quality(their old ones were reliable). I'd say their's a fine line between gimics and important technological leaps forward, and the Redsound embodies the latter IMHO. The Red sound feels fit, and you really need to give the 3-BAND CROSSFADERS a ride to know just how cool it is. Cutting back and forth between basslines is super cool, or mids, or highs, depending on the tracks. I can't say for sure how much abuse the crossfaders will take, and with three of them that could be an issue, but I think it's worth it to push DJing in new and interesting directions. This is an innovation on-par with the advent of the crossfader or the independent channel EQ, in my estimation. I have yet to hear all of the options really explored yet, but I think it opens a ton of doors. This is not to say that DJ's need something like this, but I think some of us find a little less energy for it as time passes, and a mixer like this can be a DJ's viagra as we age. The one drawback I can think of is the Brelson criteria: that you don't want get acclimated to something so good at home that your mixing suffers when you play out - but I don't care. I just want to have fun. :) Here's the link again for those who missed it the first time: http://www.redsound.com/djindex.htm Tristan ===== Text/Mixes: http://phonopsia.tripod.com Music: http://www.mp313.com Contact: [EMAIL PROTECTED] New Mix in mp3, 'Live in Iowa City' available for a short time from http://phonopsia.isoprax.com
