Probably, no one needs to be told this, but Ed DMX is a mighty fine DJ. He really had the crowd enjoying themselves here in Detroit when he rolled through for the Ghostly International party celebrating the release of the excellent Disco Nouveau. I was stunned and very delighted to see the "hardcore elite" of the D singing along with "don't you want me baby, don't you want me ohhhhhhhh?" and slow dancing to Prince at the end of the night. Ed himself was fun to watch because when the spirit moved him and he really was feeling the tune, off came the headphones and he'd do the disco shuffle from side to side in the booth with his long hair exploding in motion around him and his fine, green sports tee (was it a Saucony?)
At any rate, I'm jealous and would love to go to this event. For free no less. If you have the chance, don't miss it. You'll leave with a big smile on your face if it's anything like the show we were treated to here in Detroit. Thanks again Sam, that was a quality evening.
