Quit surprised that nobody of the London area 313-ers did not post anything about the last Lost party...
Stupor that we've all been in since ??? is only now wearing off, slowly...
; ) Someone told me today that 2003 is the year of the chill, although I wouldn't be too sure about that. Some good events are coming up this month already. Velcro Fastener live, Pepe Bradock, Fabrice Lig, Francois K... not to mention ATP in April.
I thought it was an amazing and unique party. How often can you hear in a 300 people venue Steve Bicknell, Luke Slater and Jeff Mills play back to back (kinda) with just soul, funk, disco and 80's house music? The most modern record that Jeff Mills dropped was Move Your Body from Marshal Jefferson! The rest of his records where stuff like Loose Joints, Dan Hartman, O'Jays, Sylvester JD's etc. It was maybe a little bit to full to dance nicely (well there was not really a dancefloor anyway) but still i thought it was one of the best parties i have been to in a long while
'twas indeed a good one. I was rather pleasantly surprised by Bicknell - never would've thought he even owned records like the ones he played that night, judging from his usual fodder at Lost parties. Groovealicious. Also luvverly to see Steve, Luke and Jeff having a good time - grinning behind the dex almost non-stop. : ) And good to hear the TechnoTourist enjoyed himself. ; ) It's been a pleasure meeting you.
... and it is a bit of old news but the Bleep43 New years eve party was brilliant, never had so much fun on NY eve! Bleep43 for president! :) and more boring news, Tristan, you rock!
Oh blimey. Any more of this and the Brixton massive will have to widen their doorways so T and his head will go through. ; ) Seriously though, we heard great sets that night, and for me Tristan's was the best. Variety, tempo changes, well-picked tunes.. it was all there. Cheers m8! And of course big thanks to the Bleep cru (again), bestest NYE party in ages! Respect. I'll go get me axe now... Anya
