I also noticed with that table when I cue records or try to scratch the
needle and tone arm move around a lot and usually pop out of the groove.
the
other table does not do this.

I've been experiencing this problem a lot recently. I bought new needles
last year but the problem remains, when I cue the records the needle jumps
out the groove and goes back to the start. Putting 5 p coins on top of the
cartridge sorted the problem out but when I read on 313 about extra weight
damaging records they came straight off!
I've tried adjusting the weight & height of the tone arm but it doesn't
help the problem. I put it down to the fact that I must have been sold some
dodgy needles (they're the standard Stanton ones) & thought trying a
different make might sort it out.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

G.
