i think it was a combination of their $25-minimum-drink-credit-card-silliness, and a lack of promotion. mind you, i may not be heavily in the chicago loop (har har), but i wasn't aware of this event until the day of, and even then i found out by accident. i wish i'd known about the free cover though... i'da been happy to buy their silly credit card if i'd known it wasn't on top of some door charge. maybe it had something to do with the st. patrick's day parade too. the umek/valentino show never got packed, either, and i know that some of *my* lightweight friends weren't up for partying after being drunk all day. anyway, didn't know about jazzanova either, that stings. maybe some kind chicago souls oughtta take it upon themselves to inform us cornfield-dwellers about what the place has lined up...
