I haven't seen Detroit dance like that in a long while.

Big ups to Paxacrew and to the people that came out and had a great time.

For those that weren't there:
The party started off at "Times Square Detroit", which normally caters to
shiny shirts and sequins. Michel Mayer was playing some really wicked
tracks, very "bleepy" and "bloopy", for lack of better adjectives. The
intensity of the crowd hasn't been felt like that since at least DEMF.
Reinhard Voigt came on with a live set that was extremely facsinating to
listen to and at the same time EXTREMELY dancable. At 2am, the party was
moved to the "afterparty" location, which happens to be the Legendary Burst
Audio equipment warehouse. I shouldn't even have to add that the sound was
impeccable, but it was - and the venue was a cement warehouse out on
Michigan Ave., not too far from "the Works" or the Old Tiger Stadium.
Immediately upon entering, everyone knew what was up. There was an
electricity and a (dare I say) "vibe" that only a warehouse party in Detroit
can offer, and it was certainly well recieved. The Paxahau residents, Drew
Maddox and Chuck Flask were on point to start the after party, and as soon
as the entire crowd had relocated, it was just madness. To close off the
night, Deadbeat (from Montreal) played some really "dub" type ambient or
downtempo that eased the crowd, and sounded spectacular.

Dennis

BTW - I'm still recovering, and I'm sure that most everyone is - as
Christian Bloch's going away party on Friday kicked off the madness, and
Saturday drove it home...

I'm pretty damn surprised nobody's been talking about this. The
Paxaahau Five Year Kompakt Party (Three Parties in One!) totally went
off in Detroit last weekend. Haven't raved (yes, I raved) like that in
years.
