Feel free to forward this to friends/label/press/anywhere. ENV018 JERSEY DEVIL SOCIAL CLUB HAS LANDED! The long-awaited JERSEY DEVIL SOCIAL CLUB EP is shipped and hits shops this and next week! JERSEY DEVIL SOCIAL CLUB is an Environ record like none other. A mysterious, wild mix of Italian disco, horror movie soundtracks, electronic funk and the occult, this record nearly missed seeing the light of day. Originally conceived in 1982 as a tribute to 1979's disco masterpiece Black Devil (released on Italy's tiny OUT RECORDS imprint), the project ran into funding problems and was never released. The core of the J.D.S.C. group consisted of two Italian immigrant brothers living in New Jersey, Lorenzo and Vincenzo Capo. Vincenzo's daughter Anabella contributed spoken vocal parts (apparently because she had almost no Italian accent!) and two Latin percussionist friends of the brothers (credited simply as "Carlos 1" and "Carlos 2") rounded out the lineup. After a year of remastering from original tapes and fleshing out unfinished tracks, and nearly 23 years after the project was born, Environ is honored to present to you the incredible future/past gem, JERSEY DEVIL SOCIAL CLUB. Listen to it in the dark... *Label artwork was hand-designed artwork by infamous NYC-Chicago DJ and artist, Porkchop (Redlite Discosystems). NEXT RELEASE: NEW METRO AREA!
