also, I forgot to add for what it's worth, I think the Detroit sound had a far greater influence on people than the Chicago sound. (here anyway) e.g. there was a more "what the f**k is that?" kinda thing going on, it hit people harder, made more people prick their ears up. Hmmmmmmm I don't think techno really hit here until the hardcore thing and the early Belgium tracks of late 90...... Up until then, apart from the bas n bleeps it really had all been lumped in together....... It was all house to me..... P
