hi folks. i was checking out matt macqueen's site over the weekend.
www.sonicunset.com
on the site there was a terrible tale of a rare kenny larkin EP that was sat
upon and destroyed. i have a copy of that very EP and i know i would be
quite gutted if it was damaged. anyone else have any tragic tales of
damaged detroit vinyl?
a couple of months back my puppy oscar was kind enough to chew quite
greedily on
the someone else + miss kate ep that featured a matthew dear remix.
fortunately it
still plays ok. in the same "session" he did the same to a murk ep, but
can't find any
detroit connection there ;) when younger i would regularly sit on my
glasses and destroy
them, but i've never had the misfortune to sit on and destroy a record.
i noticed on msn.com
the other day an "arts feature" on turning old vinyl into bowls! (no
lie). the only time i've
ever seen this done was to a kraftwerk record (a fk mix of musique non
stop if memory
serves) that i happened onto at a flea market--boy, was i ever unhappy
to see that.
