Every year the local "alternative" newspaper, the Hartford Advocate (www.hartfordadvocate.com) polls readers for the list of best establishments in the area. My station is competing for title of best college station in Hartford. Getting the number one spot will mean extra publicity and bragging rights for the next year.
In addition to being the only station in the area that fully supports techno music, 88.1 also offers music by independent labels, assorted non-commercial music, international music, and at least 8 hours of community affairs programming daily.
