at demf this year every nerd who was playing off a laptop seemed to be using the same midi controller breakout box. it was about 8x11 iirc and had sliders and knobs galore. any idea what i'm talking about?
also, reason vs. ableton vs. protools vs. acid vs. something else for me to start making loop and softsynth based music? no flamewars about actual gear vs. laptop, i simply want to start making music now while i save $$ for hardware.
