Jean-Claude is out going to say the least, JP at Vinyl Junkies is
similar but VJ's is one of the most expensive stores in town. But they
do get a lot of up front and exclusive stuff...

Rough Trade are opening a (so called) mega store in east London which Im
excited about as its also going to be used as a live gig venue.....

I've only been to Phonica once while visiting and I concur - service
was dreadful. One store clerk busy chatting with his friend while I
stood at the counter with a stack of records waiting to be helped.
Finally the A-hole got around to helping me but acted like I was putting
him out. I don't understand how these places stay open.
Last time I was in London I discovered If Music. Jean-Claude was superb
in getting me to part with most of my money. Serious personal service
from that man and he hit me up with some shtuff I still can't get over.
All I had to do was sit at the bar while he pulled records and played
them out -kept the evolution of choices changing and building on the
last "yes" or "no" selection. In addition, he and his mate (also there
shopping) were super friendly telling me stories about this and that.
Worlds apart from Phonica.
