It might have been 'Country Gazette', by World Standard, which came out a few years ago. An ex-Yellow Magic Orchestra member is behind the project. More of an ambient/electronica/country hybrid that makes for some seriously deranged listening. Samples David Crosby's masterwork, 'If I Could Only Remember My Name', to superb effect on one track. Should still be easy to find (on cd, anyway).
