I think you're off base on what a house DJ is, I consider myself a
house DJ these days
and I think a lot of people who used to be more techno have now come back to the
house side of things, and there's plenty of that "rich, textured,
deepness" in proper
house sets.

It's just that there are a lot of bad house DJ's in the world that
spoiled it for the few good
house DJ's.

On a side note, the word from Berlin now is that people are pretty
sick / burnt out on the
whole mnml techno thing and the trend is really going towards playing
proper house music.
I know a couple of my friends who moved over there are now playing
super housey compared
to what they did two years ago...
