You are correct with the FTP, I didn't think of that but now that you mention it yes I would probably have to deal with IT and in our case the users are in many locations in the U.S..
I'm looking into restricting the upload size as one solutions (the huge sizes were for testing and not necessarily real world in our case). I will also look at using chunks as a last resort.
