Hi Free, Great news :-) Download iso: http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/64studio.com/installer/ 64studio_3.0-beta2_i386.iso 600.2M 23-Feb-2009 Kernel: 2.6.29-1-multimedia-686 Clean install on PC Studio Graphics "nv" snd_ice1712 (48k) Install finds other OS's and adds them to Grub menu.lst. boot verbose error message: kernel_maps.protect = 1 $ sudo gedit /etc/sysctl.conf (comment out kernel_maps.protect = 1) SetUp Audio preferences (48k) System hung on shutdown boot verbose on first shutdown Use [ctrl]+[alt]+[del] to Reboot from verbose screen. Envy24control had defaulted volumes to 0. Reset Volumes using Envy24control http://jamin.sourceforge.net/en/tutorial.html Download: jam-ard-tutorial.tar.gz Import coldduck-unmastered.wav into Ardour project. Whilst web browsing editing files & multitasking qjackctl & ardour coldduck-unmastered test project = max = 9.8% System Halted ok. The first hang on shutdown seems to have been a one off maybe it was because it was the initial boot after install, it's fine now. My first impressions are that the 3.0-beta2 release is a fine release and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the users get a chance to take it for a spin. Thanks 64studio or a great distribution. :-) Great work Free, :-) Cheers! dave. _______________________________________________ 64studio-devel mailing list [email protected] http://lists.64studio.com/mailman/listinfo/64studio-devel
