PC1: Install 1: Studio Graphics "nv" snd_ice1712 (48k) [!!] NetworkManager nm_dbus_init 'cb_data->dbus_connection' failed. [ctrl]+[alt]+[del] is "sometimes" needed, but not always. PC2: Install 2: Desktop Graphics intel-agp snd_intel8x0 (48k) [!!] NetworkManager nm_dbus_init 'cb_data->dbus_connection' failed. But this machine hasn't needed [ctrl]+[alt]+[del] at all. It hangs but always completes to shutdown fine. So it looks like it's more to do with the PC1 itself, Probably an "acpi" or "apic" setting in the Bios, and not 64 Studio 3.0-beta2 causing the problem > > >> Envy24control had defaulted volumes to 0. > > I think that's just the ALSA default, all outputs muted. Envy24control only defaults to 0 when I have to use [ctrl]+[alt]+[del] on PC1. > > > I've been running Jack at 64x3 on an on-board AC97 sound chip with > Hydrogen, no xruns. So this kernel is looking good so far, realtime-wise. > > Cheers! > > Daniel > PC2: Install 2: Desktop intel-agp snd_intel8x0 (48k) Clean install, verbose messages mirror PC1, Sound is fine. The 3.0-beta2 is very nice here, the kernel is not giving any problems. The desktop and system on both installs is very crisp and responsive. PC2 has no problems with shutdown.
