Hi All,

Things are moving at quite a pace.
Ardour is fine with multi tasking Desktop use.
This upgrade I felt 64studio's impact on
the alpha/beta release. The 64studio package.
Setting up cdd-utils (0.12.30~hardy1) ...
Setting up libgtk2.0-bin (2.12.9-3ubuntu5) ...
Setting up 64studio (3.0~pre9~hardy1) ...
3.0~pre7~hardy1 >  3.0~pre9~hardy1
$ dpkg -s 64studio
Used:
2.6.26-1-multimedia-686 (rm 2.6.28-rt & 2.6.29-rt)
Cleaned up a bit. Used the first build .config
Changed one setting only
CONFIG_HZ_1000=y
$ sudo dpkg -i 2.6.29-rc4-rt2 build-2 1000hz
boot: ro
qjackctl idle no project = max = 3%
qjackctl idle with open project = max = 7.2%
qjackctl ardour coldduck-unmastered project = max = 8.8%

The levels are the best to date, not by much, but they are.
The desktop is not a mellow as 2.6.26, 2.6.28, 2.6.29
High resolution type of feeling, audio seems better.
desktop very energetic.

Today multitask with coldduck-unmastered project
play/looped and it's fine, no problem.
The system is better, two major changes,
packages & kernel 1000hz
sdiff & ediff the .configs to confirm change.
If I had to find a negative I would say the graphics
are highly refreshed & excited.
qjackctl ardour coldduck-unmastered project = max = 8.8%
qjackctl ardour coldduck-unmastered project = stable = 8.4%

64studio installer is improving.
The system settled even more with this 64studio upgrade
The Menu choice is changing.
Target stability, and it's very good two machines here.

pdk: you gotta luv pdk.
cp Makefile Makefile-mylinux
$ grep timeout Makefile-mylinux
$ grep inst-boot-options Makefile-mylinux

The "timeout" & "inst-boot-options" Are the final steps
you have to build a stable base.

Learning a lot here testing 64studio.

Cheers!
dave.
