I suggest to install ardour2 as default and make it possible to install ardourvst next to it. LV2 is much better for Linux Audio imo, but if people can use VST on Linux, people start using GNU/Linux more often and maybe will adopt LV2 too. At the end you got more people using and contributing to LV2...
