Sometimes. I just built two identical machines for a client. The Windows install was far more difficult. Linux required no drivers, not even for the RAID card (3ware PCIe). Even 3d graphics worked out of the box under Linux. | | What graphic card I have to buy seems to be relative clear. | | I need a SATA hard disc. Linux must be fine with my IDE hard disc, IDE | DVD device and this SATA. There are many low-cost SATA hard discs. Is | there anything I should take care of, if I will use this three devices | together and the SATA, among other things, should be used for hd recording? Using PATA and SATA at the same time should not be a problem. On of of my machines here I am using a SATA RAID card, the onboard SATA, and the onboard PATA all at the same time without issue. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFIYQ1cwRXgH3rKGfMRAlLuAJ9Yx+algfSDEy0rUx1+bzebzPryvACglEeI 24aFiFKXJYmVna+HBfjL7OI= =c6eH -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ 64studio-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.64studio.com/mailman/listinfo/64studio-users
