You simply install the nVidia module with the -K option, to install it
to a second kernel (I am referring to the nvidia download).

Having said that, proprietary drivers or junk like ndiswrapper have
periodically caused me grief with RT kernels.  I do not confuse the
problems I have with 3rd party software with the genuine problems you
get with any platform.

There is not really a price difference here.  CPU + motherboard may only
be $50 CDN difference between Intel  and AMD.  Some people may *choose*
Windows or Macs as a platform, just as they choose Cubase, Pro Tools, or
whatever software package to do our audio work.  Macs are the only ones
with a discernible price premium.

That is your choice.  I am not sure you and I share the same definition
of the the word "need".
