As I've written, I'm not from Windows or Mac and I'm working for
pro-audio and video since I was 17 in 1984. Some time later I programed
FLOSS for the C64, it wasn't called FLOSS but it was (and is) FLOSS.

MIDI definitive isn't very good for Linux, even for people with
compatible hardware, but this isn't the topic of this thread. WMs and
DEs are very good for Linux, KWin with KDE is the best combination I
know, but the thread about WMs started with the request for Fluxbox as
default for 64 Studio, so there is a discussion about this useful, I
guess and hope.
