Hi David, Daniel, Quentin and list :)

if I'm not mistaken you David are author for a linux magazine. Someone
is using the source code of LMMS to make money and it seems to be legal
and it might be an advantage to spread this software, anyhow, I do feel
bad with this situation. I'm not a user of LMMS, but I know that LMMS is
one of the really good FLOSS projects, it fits to the needs of many
musicians.

There is something called 'Beatmachine', http://www.beatmachinepro.com/,
and as I have written before, there seems to be nothing criminal with
this, but if someone can sell it, it seems to be an application that is
wanted by users and I guess it would be fair to donate the original
coders too.

Is it possible for you or anyone else to make a report about LMMS
(without dissing Beatmachine).

I guess if FLOSS is asked in a way that people are able to get money by
this, the original authors at least should get respect for doing a good job.

I guess Tobias Dörfel is head of the project, I might be wrong. This is
his email address: tobias.doerf...@gmail.com

Maybe you will contact him?! I'm not sure if 64 Studio is including LMMS
by default, but if so, Daniel or Quentin can you please highlight that a
FLOSS application is such popular, that people make it some kind of
proprietary like?

I guess it's complete different to use FLOSS for something like
Indamixx, because it's disclosed and an independent progress, but
Beatmachine for me and some others feels more like a robbery.

This is the link to the LMMS archive and the thread about this issu:

Cheers,
Ralf
