I believe Brian is referring to his book, "Principles of Operating
Systems: Design + Applications", ISBN 978-1-4188-3769-3.

If I understood him correctly, he was making a self-deprecating
reference to the book's lack of penetration into the market, and
possibly lack of uptake in curricula across institutions.

A laudable goal, though in my opinion far too much text. At some
point, understanding must come from direct study, and not exposition.
