The question then is: even if the compatibility stuff is removed, how much the history and the compatibility dead weigth has polluted the design of both hardware and software 64bits architecture? I.e. this will help (for manufacturing or for the assembly/compilers) but doesn't, by itself, make the 64bits parts good.
