Silk: Thanx Jim for the input that was the solution.I have had a computer functioning fine at night, switched it off & in the morning something was awry? "It's electronics" a friend is always saying to me as a way of explanation for these unaccountable things & the computer makes many, many calculations & is (I suppose not perfect & apt to occasionaly get a bit confused). I do have a question you might have an answer to. On one of my computers when I push the button it takes a bit more time then I would like it to to shut down. Another computer shuts down immediately? I went to BIOS but I didn't see anything there to adjust.. Whatcha think> thanx/Silk
