Hi Pat

To avoid people here suggesting solutions that may already have been suggested
by HP can you list what they have suggested and you have tried to date?

What do you mean by "removing all that and going back to the old printer but it
will not go back in?". If your old printer is still connected it should still
work but it may no longer be selected as the default printer, since you tried
to
install the new one. Take a look at Printers in Control Panel, is the old
printer listed and is it shown as the Default printer?

I have seen these problems fixed by completely uninstalling all the HP programs
relating to the new printer and starting again from scratch ensuring that you
insert the installation disk first, follow the Wizard but DO NOT connect the
printer to the computer until you are told to by the on screen Wizard. Also
make sure the installation disk is clean.

HI, I have Win XP. My printer was giving me problems so I decided to
get a new one.I have been trying for a week to install it with no luck
and tons of suggestions from HP which none of them have solved the
problem. Have not been able to install it as I keep getting fatal error
messages. The last one I go said fatal error MSI scan. I then decided
to remove all of that and go back to the old printer. Now it will not
go back in---this is the error message

D:setup\hpzgat01.exe-gatecue-runhpzmsl01.exe-m memoriesdisc-1ENU-
fc:windows\hi...

Any suggestions? Since this happened on both printers on trying to
install, to me it sounds like a windows problem, so it probably would
not do any good to return the printer and get a different brand. Is that
correct?
Pat
