Hi Paris -- Odds against me ask the A-1 Computer Techs :-). The first season DVD will be out beginning of next year, by the way ... and Robert Lansing has always been/will always be my favorite actor!
Back to topic... For this computer, no, I don't have a Windows XP install CD, bought both it and my other computer with Windows XP installed. I do have one for the other computer, at the other house (we're slowly moving), because I didn't want to have it upgraded when I had it fixed the last time. When we finish and get settled in there, I'll get it up and running, and go from there. For the first couple of times the problem showed up, I unplugged and plugged the external drive, shutting down in between, etc. I unplugged the USB cable from the drive and plugged it back, that helped once. Once or twice it would show nothing of mine, but the MyBook works, then after another reboot would come up fine. I figured from that that the disks wasn't destroyed-opened several different files and all of my information was there. I was more concerned this last time, because of the USB warning I received, plus the printer USB gave a warning and refused to print. Shut down, unplugged everything, opened the case and cleaned the computer, and checked that the memory and cards were set. Closed up and rebooted. The printer's been fine ever since, but I finally completely shut down and unplugged the external drive. Have not tried it again since. I won't have time tonight, but this week I can plug it back in and see what happens.
