Since you've had the prob with 3 separate drives, it does seem like the problem would be with the motherboard - either the sata controller, or the BIOS. Pavilion A6130n's were originally sold in 2007 (5 years ago). I dunno if 2TB SATA drives were much anticipated back then. Did the HP bios you flashed specifically say it would support 2TB sata drives? You might just be asking the BIOS (or sata controller) to deal with a drive structure that it's not capable of handling. If you've downloaded the latest version of WD's drive diagnostics utility, and "still" can't get a drive to work, then the prob is most likely with the mobo rather than either windows or the drive itself. I don't think your new Windows install will fix it since WD diagnostics works fully outside any windows functionality. If you can't get the drive recognized by WD diag, then I don't think Windows will be able to handle it. (but hopefully I'm wrong, so give it a shot). :-)
