I perform AUTOMATIC BACK-UP on a product called POCKET MEDIA DRIVE by HP which
one can install just like a CD or DVD drive in the front panel of their
computer console. You can then set up HOW FREQUENTLY you want the drive to
BACK-UP.

Subject: [A-1-Computer_Tech] How can I save just the attributes of some files
from another computer or ...?

How can I save just the attributes of some files from another computer or
storage medium (external hard drive, usb drive, etc.)?

Here's the situation. My mom has a lot of files that she wants to take off her
computer to make more room. She also wants to back all those files up in case
she needs any of them again (She regularly backs up her computer anyways.). She
also wants to be able to go over the file names and other attributes such as
size, date created, etc. of those files that will no longer be on her computer
but will be on her external hard drive without having to open up that external
hard drive. Is there an application out there that will set a database that
will allow her to do that? She would like that application to be capable of
traversing directories and searching for a file's attributes such as name just
as you would if you were in Windows Explorer without actually having to open
the drive that the file came from.

If anyone has any questions about what I am indicating, please feel free to ask.
