Holly, You didn't mention your version of Windows? I assume you've gone into Control Panel, Display Settings and tried setting the monitor numbers back there? If that didn't work, look for your display adapter's advanced settings. Might be called nVidia, or GeForce, or Radeon, etc. You might find it in control panel, or there might be a tiny icon for it in your lower right screen's system tray. But sometimes your video card will have its own monitor settings that will override the ones in Windows.
Good luck, Donk PS: See if a reboot doesn't fix your "raggedy text" prob with FireFox. If not, try typing in Notepad or Wordpad just to be sure it is a FireFox problem. If it is universal, then maybe your video card or chip is having issues. Repost with results.
