I'm not saying that these things are not useful. I just think that the use of "!" for two different purposes is a mistake. I may be wrong but I think - abc2win is used by more people than the abc2ps family (my only evidence is asking around.) - there are more files using "!" for a linebreak than for a !---! command. - abc2win was the first program to use the "!"
