Most free software projects have a changelog, so that people can see what
happened when.  AbiWord doesn't, and AFAIK never has. However we do have
*extensive* CVS logs.  There is also a nice program to convert these CVS
logs to GNU-style changelogs (and lots of other things).  It is called
cvs2cl [1].  

My question - should we add change logs to our distribution?  our source?

One important piece of info - the current changelog is huge, about 800k
uncompressed, or about 200k gzipped.  This could be distributed over all
the directories in the tree, or time-limited.
