I would really like to get to the bottom of this. See bug 2348 in

To summerize my investigations:
copy and paste works fine with the following apps into abiword.
emacs
gnome-terminal
netscape
galeon
xterm
konquerer
gnumeric
I cannot copy and paste from kword into abiword.
Copy and paste works works fine from abiword to:
emacs
gnome-terminal
netscape
galeon
xterm
konquerer
gnumeric
kword
This is with redhat 7.2. Could people please quantify which applications
do and don't work. All these tests use the middle mouse button to paste.
KDE is blaming us for this but I don't want to a lot of work for all this
and find out it is their fault (which we can't fix.)
