While responding to a message sent to my private e-mail rather than the list, I realized that information on the user mailing list is buried 3 clicks deep from the main page. First click "support", then "get help", then "User's Mailing List". Since the mailing list is the primary vehicle for support, I think it should be listed in the menu right under "Support". It certainly more important than "System Requirements" or "Vote on a Bug".
As I write this, I see that "Get Help" is listed on the menu. I missed it the first time because I expected to see "Mailing list" in blinking red text. So the mailing list is only two clicks away. I still think that "Mailing list" (maybe IRC, too; but as the help page points out, response will depend on who is present, which could be frustrating) Another suggestion: AbiWord's mailing list page, as most, is oriented to helping someone subscribe. There is a link to the archives. It would be helpful (for the users and the developers (support staff:)) if it also had an explicit section encouraging and assisting users to browse and search the archive. A Google box might be adequate. Robert J.
