Hal, Thanks for the reply.
However, I don't need different front ends. I don't have different levels of users. I am creating one database for one group of users (i.e., HR), and if possible, I don't want them to even be able to read certain fields from the same table that they need data out of. Apparently Access' security cannot handle this. Basically HR wants to be able to see Name, Address, Phone, SSN, Status, plus a couple of their own fields that are stored in a separate Access table, linked by EmpId. They should only be able to edit the couple of fields stored in the Access table. And I don't want them to be able to see other fields in the SQL like PayRate. As long as I don't need to allow them to build any queries, I suppose I could disable the Database Window. That may be the easiest solution. Or maybe the answer is instead of linking to the SQL table, copy over all the needed data into an Access table, and create a way to update the table to contain live data.
